Donations

The primary purpose of the trust is to identify particular heirlooms that capture the history of the family that should be preserved for generations to come so that have a better understanding of their ancestors.  These artifacts can range widely from tools to toys to books or papers; something that helps tell the family story.

Where are the Artifacts stored?  –  Currently there is not central storage or musuem. The trust exists as “virtual” musuem with the artifacts remaining in the physical possession of the donor.

If I continue to possess the artifacts then why donate to the trust? –  By donating the item to the trust you are essentially identifying that item is important to your families history.  It is documented and recorded so that others in the family are aware of its existence, whereabouts and its importance.  If at some point there is a musuem/visitors center built it could be used for display purposes there.

Am I eligible for tax deduction by donating an artifact/money to the trust? –  At this point the HCC Trust is NOT a 501(c) 3 organization and therefore donations are not tax decuctible

How do I donate an Artifact to the Trust?  –  The trust is in the process of developing a formal document to be completed to donate to the trust; we anticipate it being complete in Spring 2016 in the meantime either post in the Contact Us form on this website or e-mail Jim Calvert
